We already know about the awesome power of speakers. However, most are not much to look at. Meridian is compensating for all of those years of boring speaker boxes with the M6 Digital Active Loudspeaker.
This new product gets to the point—literally. Designed to do battle with Meridian’s Audio Core 200 preamp, the M6 features a unique circular footprint and cone shape. That tapered column is actually formed from a specially developed, barium-doped resin.
If you think that the M6 looks pretty, wait until you hear it. Boasting a naturally wide dispersion pattern, the M6 can rock any room from any position. Also, because it has that funky enclosure, Meridian says there are separate, isolated housings for the wide-range and the low-frequency drivers.
Other features include a tuned porting system, a low-frequency driver that’s mounted to play downwards, and DSP and active technologies so that this slim package can play like a conventional speaker with eight times the physical volume.
Meridian expects the Meridian M6 Loudspeaker to start shipping next month. You can expect to pay $9,000 per pair.
