Meridian is trying to make its way into more areas of your home. To make the addition easy, the company has just announced the Distributor 3, a component that can easily add Meridian’s DSP speakers into any multiroom audio or control system.
The Distributor 3 is easy to install, making it simple to add three additional music zones around the house—all with DSP speakers, of course. Those options include freestanding, bookshelf and even in-wall speakers, in case you have a few spots that can’t fit an actual speaker cabinet, such as in a hallway, bedroom or bathroom.
According to Meridian, a zone can be built using a pair of DSP loudspeakers up to a full Meridian entertainment system with local sources. It can work in conjunction with your existing home audio system, as well as any control system. Each zone gets both audio and control signals via an RS-232 interface.
Of course, if you’re needing more than three zones, that’s certainly possible, by adding more Distributor 3 units. Designed to be tucked inside your AV rack, the component also features volume and source selection for each zone, as well as connectivity for analog, digital and SpeakerLink sources.
Meridian is selling the Distributor 3: now, with an MSRP of $1,500.
