Need a little extra room for your AV collection? Meridian just announced the Media Drive 600 Storage System. This component can be used for new installs or as an add-on to any existing Meridian Sooloos Digital Media System.

Designed to hold a pair of hard disk drives, the Media Drive 600 can store up to 5,000 CDs with automatic RAID 1 backup. Also, because it’s always connected to the Sooloos extranet, the 600 can be accessed remotely for both support and diagnostics services.

Other features include a switch-mode power supply and a regulated cooling system, both of which boast easy rack-mounting and operation. It can also be controlled via any of the Meridian Sooloos control devices or apps.

It also looks nice and can match any of the recent Meridian Sooloos releases, such as the Media Core 600 and Media Source 600.

Meridian will start selling the Meridian Media Drive 600 Storage System this month. The MSRP, which does not include the hard disk drives, is $5,000.
