Meridian sure knows how to make a speaker. Right on the heels of the compact DSP3200, the company has put similar electronic efforts into the DSP3300 Digital Active Loudspeaker.

Designed for use in Meridian Digital Theatre applications, this multipurpose two-way digital active loudspeaker promises power and clarity in places that are short on space. Since it’s sold separately, it’s easy to put into your system as the center channel, and even comes with a molded rubber mount for angling the speaker and keeping it scratch-free. It also works for surround action, but you’re going to need to double up. However, that same mount does work for vertical placement.

Available in glossy Traffic White or traditional glossy black, each speaker has two 165mm bass drivers, a centrally located wide range drive unit, and a combination of Meridian’s own DSP and active loudspeaker technologies.

Meridian will start selling the DSP3300 Digital Active Loudspeaker this month. The company has priced the speaker at $3,995 each.
