McIntosh Laboratory audio products connote a certain status of luxury and sonic expectation that make them one of the most highly desired, and fiercely loyal to, brand names out there. So you think maybe that combination would make for a Fifth Ave. or Park Ave. store opening in Manhattan, perhaps, for the company’s first boutique in the Americas?
Well, not exactly. You’ll have to stick to the specialty distribution here in the states (or eBay) to get your Mac product fix. But audiophiles in Brazil can head over to the super swanky Iguatemi Shopping Center in Sao Paulo to indulge in the first McIntosh boutique shop in the Americas.
The company announced one of its Brazilian distributors, Stefo Jabra, opened the doors on a McIntosh store, designed by architect and interior designer Karina Alfonso, to showcase and sell its audio and video products.
From the looks of it, you’ll be able to make it your one-stop shop for a McIntosh-only theater or listening room that’ll knock you off your feet, and dent your wallet a bit—just like Ivan Messer’s incredible ode to Mac.
Even if we can’t all afford to purchase McIntosh gear (I’d surely love to get my hands on the MT10 turntable), it’s always fun to window shop - especially when there are sweet-sounding audio demonstrations involved. Go ahead, McIntosh, bring a boutique to one of our fine upscale malls here in New England!
