We all have stories about an A/V receiver or speakers or other piece of electronics that served us well for years and years. When we finally decide to make some changes or upgrades with the times, it can be hard to let go. McIntosh Laboratory is trying to make parting with your old amps and preamps be a little less sweet sorrow.
In case you missed your window of opportunity last year, McIntosh is expanding its consumer “Trade-UP” program again for 2008.
This cool program lets you trade in your old McIntosh pieces—stereo power amplifiers, preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers or receivers (and monoblock amps are eligible in pairs)—for credit toward a new McIntosh model. If you paid good money for your old gear, then it’ll pay dividends now. You can get up to 75 percent of the original MSRP toward the new product.
From what we saw earlier this summer, there are plenty of excellent new McIntosh products that have joined the company’s stable of renowned electronics to pick from.
Note that this is for U.S. and Canadian residents only. You’ll have to check with the McIntosh website or your local dealer for more of the details (last year’s promotion ran for a little longer than two months).
