MartinLogan’s Spire
The word “spire” might make some people think of Churchill Downs’ famed Twin Spires that shine annually on the first Saturday in May during the Kentucky Derby. For an alternative twin spires, you can go ahead and snap up a pair of MartinLogan’s beautiful electrostatic speakers bearing the name.
MartinLogan introduced its Spire model, which will be available in May for $8,495 per pair. If you’ve seen electrostatic speakers in action, you know they’re more than just speakers but also serve as eye candy for your media room.
The Spire is a powered hybrid model, featuring MartinLogan’s PoweredForce 10-inch aluminum cone woofer and 200-watt amplifier, bringing the speaker’s usable bass down to 29 Hz and boosting the Spire’s dynamics. There’s a also a 35 Hz equalization knob to help you calibrate and optimize in accordance with the room environment.
The rest of the speaker helps deliver further accuracy, dynamics and three-dimensional sound staging, as Spire’s rigid AirFrame and curvilinear XStat electrostatic transducer do their work.
The Spire comes in a variety of cabinet finishes including Black Ash, Dark Cherry, Natural Cherry, Maple, Birds Eye Maple, Wenge, and Rotary Cut Bubinga. You can also customize yours through MartinLogan’s online Custom Shop.
