Marantz is currently on a roll with the new releases Now, the company just announced the SR5009, a new network home theater receiver that includes both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
That type of connectivity means you’ll have unlimited sources of music at your fingertips. It has a built-in media player to decode music files that are stored or your PC or other external storage unit. That lineup includes MP3, WMA, FLAC HD, ALAC, WAV192/24 and AAC, as well as gapless, DSD and AIFF. It can also stream a ton of music using Apple AirPlay and direct access to web radio and Spotify Connect.
Promising 180 watts for each of its seven channels, the SR5009 even has support for 4K 50/60Hz UHD and 3D. As if those perks don’t make this unit the perfect cornerstone for today’s home theater, it also has eight HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs. That means that this AVR can be used to power a 5.1 system in one room and stereo sound from a different source in another.
Other features include Audyssey MultiEQ XT room correction, four Smart Select buttons, an FM/AM tuner, Marantz’s ECO mode, and support for the Marantz Remote app for smartphones and tablets.
Marantz will start shipping the SR5009 sometime in August, priced at $899.
