There have been few companies in the audiophile world that have created as much buzz as Berkeley, Calif.-based Magico over the past few years.
This relatively new manufacturer has introduced a series of products for the luxury market and has established itself as one of the top loudspeaker companies in the category.
With its S1 compact freestanding loudspeaker, Magico has addressed a broader demographic by providing luxury consumers a visually appealing solution that does not compromise sound quality for style and ergonomics.
The two-way loudspeaker stands just under 4 feet tall, 9 inches deep and 10 inches wide, and it can be used for traditional two-channel applications or as the main left and right speakers in a home theater that also features the company’s upcoming center-channel speaker.
Internally the speaker uses Magico’s 1-inch MB30 tweeter and 7-inch M390 mid-woofer. Magico states the 4-ohm speaker has a rated sensitivity of 86dB and a frequency response of 32Hz to 50kHz.
Magico offers the speaker in a number of colors to ensure it complements an array of home interior designs.
The Magico S1 carries an MSRP of $12,600 and is made in the company’s California facilities.
