Luxul Wireless Added to Savant’s Excellence in A/V Cooperative Program
August 24, 2010 by EH Staff

Osterville, MA. — Savant Systems LLC, having delivered the first Apple®-based home automation and control system, has announced the addition of Luxul Wireless to their EXCELLENCE IN A/V cooperative program. The EXCELLENCE IN A/V initiative has been targeted to achieve global compatibility between Savant’s control systems and a diverse group of best-in-class manufacturers from the audio, video, lighting control, HVAC, and security industries, as well as devices and subsystems from many related markets.

Luxul Wireless delivers cost-effective solutions for enhancing the performance of wireless networks using patented antenna and signal boosting technologies. Luxul Wireless products improve the performance of traditional access points by 400% or more while also reducing overall infrastructure, installation and maintenance costs. “With Luxul technology, a single wireless access point can deliver Wi-Fi coverage to an entire home—reducing costs and eliminating concerns over dropped signal or data loss between multiple access points,” explained Luxul’s VP of Marketing, Clark Roundy. “We received feedback through our sales channel that compatibility with Savant’s automation platform should be a priority, and the Excellence in A/V program addresses that for our distribution partners,” Roundy added.
Participation in Savant’s EXCELLENCE IN A/V cooperative program will facilitate the introduction of Luxul Wireless’ devices to the Savant integrator community. “The purpose of our Excellence in A/V program is to streamline the integration process for our dealer/installers and to introduce them to upcoming technologies,” stated Savant’s Director of Business Development Bob Ross. “Any improvement in network performance serves both our dealer base and our end-user customers—we are pleased to be working with Luxul Wireless to help achieve this,” Ross added.

The core of Savant’s technology is an open programmable platform supporting UDP/IP, TCP/IP, RS-232/422/485 and IR serial communication, and Low Voltage Trigger Outputs.

Savant’s EXCELLENCE IN A/V program will open new doors for participating manufacturers seeking to expand their business in a rapidly growing industry.
