Lorex has several products that make it simple to have a security system at home. Now, they want to make those options even easier. The company just announced Stratus Connectivity, a cloud-enabled connectivity solution that can put you in touch with your security system from any device with a web connection.

The company says that Stratus Connectivity will serve as the connectivity layer for all future Lorex product platforms. What that means to you is an easier setup and an easy way to tap into that system from almost anywhere.

According to Lorex, Stratus Connectivity has a three-step setup process. Just download the app, scan a QR code, and input a new password. From there, you’ll have instant access to your Lorex security system.

Stratus Connectivity is compatible with PC and Mac computers, as well as iOS and Android devices. Each of those apps can provide controls to view cameras, search and playback recorded content, and save video or still images right to your mobile device.

Also worth noting: Stratus Connectivity is absolutely free.

“A real game-changer in the consumer surveillance industry, Stratus Connectivity offers a whole new type of user experience, integrating the technology Lorex is known for with the benefits of cloud connectivity,” said Reuben Klein, general manager of Lorex. “With Stratus Connectivity, Lorex is making it faster and easier for consumers to incorporate DVR solutions into their everyday lives, which should increase the penetration of security systems into more homes in the future.”

Lorex Stratus Connectivity will make its debut in ECO Series Security DVRs. The ECO4 Series Security DVR with 960H Recording and Stratus Connectivity is available now, with an MSRP of $499.99. The company then plans to integrate Stratus Connectivity into other Lorex products over the next few months.
