Mama’s got a squeezebox that goes in and out. This one goes Boom.
Logitech just announced the latest in its music player line, the Squeezebox Boom. Instead of lining up little bits and pieces to play music from your PC, this new device puts speakers and an integrated 30-watt amplifier into one unit.
Like your good old ‘80s boombox, this unit is self-contained, so it doesn’t need additional hardware. If you want music in the bedroom, kitchen, or backyard, just pick it up and go. All it needs is your existing home network and a power outlet.
“Just plug it in and you’re ready to rock the house,” says Robin Selden, VP and general manager of Logitech’s streaming media unit.
Aside from digital music, the unit can also play selections from services such as Sirius, Rhapsody, Last.FM, Slacker and Pandora. Other features include six preset buttons and a built-in alarm clock.
Logitech’s Squeezebox Boom will be available next month for $300.
