Logitech is getting serious about security, announcing new additions to its Logitech Alert lineup. The company says that the Logitech Alert 750n Indoor Master System and the Logitech Alert 700n Indoor Add-On Camera will start shipping this month.

The Logitech Alert 750n Indoor Master System packs an entire security system inside one box. Boasting an easy installation, this package features wide-angle night vision and a free remote viewing account, allowing users to check in on the home while away from home.

If you’re needing a little extra coverage, that’s where the Logitech Alert 700n Indoor Add-On Camera comes in. The stand-alone night-vision camera is designed to be used with an existing Logitech Alert Master system.

Both products use HomePlug networking, making the installation as easy as plugging into an existing power outlet. From there, cameras connect to the network and promise HD video (960 x 720 at 15fps), a 130-degree wide-angle and night vision up to 50 feet.

Each one can also be set up for motion-triggered recording, as well as email alerts. Logitech says that you can even specify 16 motion-detection zones within the frame.

“By bringing our night vision capabilities to indoor cameras with the Logitech Alert 750n Indoor Master System and the Logitech Alert 700n Indoor Add-On Camera, you get a premiere security system package,” said James Lopez, Logitech’s general manager of digital video security. “The wide angle lens gives you the ability to see up to twice as much viewing area, even in complete darkness.  And if there is motion on your property, its automatic alerts let you know about it in an instant—even if you’re out of town.”

Logitech says that the Logitech Alert 750n Indoor Master System and Logitech Alert 700n Add-On Camera will be available this month. Prices are listed at $299.99 and $229.99, respectively.
