It’s time to squeeze more out of the Squeezebox.
Sirius just announced that it will make more than 80 of its satellite radio channels available to the two Logitech Squeezebox networked players, as well as the company’s Transporter product.
It’s a pretty cool added feature, especially if you already have an existing subscription (which is $12.95 a month; $6.99 for additional subs). Sirius says that its commercial-free music channels will be available, as well as specialty channels such as Howard Stern, Martha Stewart, MAXIM Radio, Sirius NFL Radio, and more.
The Squeezebox ($300) and Squeezebox Duet ($400) both network music to any audio system in the home. The Transporter ($1,999) boasts audiophile-quality streaming. The Sirius service will work with any of the three, via a wired or Wi-Fi connection.
If you already own one of the products, Logitech will make the option to add Sirius an easy software update.
