At last year’s CES, a company named Liquid Image made a big splash (get it?) with its underwater mask/camera.

This year, they are taking things to the next level—at least the next level of marketing. They have added high-definition capabilities to two products, the HD320 and PRO HD350.

Both units do capture hands-free 720p (1280 x 720) video, at 30 frames per second. Of course, there’s also audio, as well as the ability to snap 5-megapixel still images. Light attachments help to improve color levels when underwater. Each also has 64MB internal memory; a micro SD/SDHC card can increase that to 32GB.

The only difference between the two seems to be when it comes to the company’s seal of approval. Each camera has a depth rating: 100 feet for the H350 and 115 for the H320. Also, the 350 is geared towards the professional market, and is dark in color—meaning amateurs are more apt to be fish food.

Both units will be available this spring, just in time to capture your summer cannonball adventures for YouTube. The H320 will sell for $215. No price has been set for the H350 yet.

The video below doesn’t include either of the new HD models, but it is still a pretty cool demo of the product line in action.

Cool video, but I think that the music track is a little over the top.
And it is somewhat unfortunate that they are only showing the regular version….which was selling for something like 100-120 bucks…
