Scottish manufacturer Linn has added the Akurate System to its line of dedicated music systems to offer consumers top-notch playback of two-channel and multichannel audio (and even old-school vinyl if you add a Linn Sondek turntable).
The system starts from $28,200 and includes a CD player, Kontrol pre-amplifier, 2200 power amplifier, tuner (coming soon, according to Linn’s web site) and 242 series loudspeakers.
The Akurate CD player supports standard CDs, DTS Audio CD, SACD and DVD-A, and includes analog and digital outputs as well as the company’s “silent power” switch mode power supply. The pre-amp includes six analog and six digital outputs and can process Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS surround and DTS 96/24.
The loudspeakers feature Linn’s 3K driver array technology, where the mid-range drive unit, tweeter and super-tweeter are mounted closely together in a rigid cast chassis.
