Every day we’re hearing about AV gear adding in some new web functionality (hello Spotify!). However, an Ethernet jack isn’t always available to make that new convenience all that convenient. Instead of adding in another network switch, Cisco has included a few essential home theater features in the Linksys WES610N Wireless-N Dual-Band Entertainment Bridge.
As the latest member of the Linksys E-Series family, this device allows you to connect any web-enabled home entertainment device to your home’s wireless network—including HD, 3D, gaming, music, and much more.
The Bridge has four Ethernet ports to connect up to four devices, as well as a dual-band option, so you can choose between 2.4GHz or 5GHz (just not at the same time). Promising speeds up to 300Mbps, the WES610N also has WPA2 Security and a Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button.
The Linksys WES610N Wireless-N Dual-Band Entertainment Bridge is available now, with an MSRP of $129.99. If you only need to get one device on the network, the WET610N is a one-port option, for $99.99.
