LG to Replace Chocolate Phone
Hoping to repeat the universal success of their last release, LG is putting a spotlight on Shine.

See this is what sucks about consumer electronics: As soon as you get the coolest, newest thing, you need to upgrade—not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Riding on the tasty wave of their Chocolate phone, Engadget says that LG is planning a thinner, slicker model called Shine.

The new slider is thin as a pin at 13 millimeters (ok, a thick pin) and weighs 115 grams. The highlights include a 2-megapixel camera, 1GB of built-in memory, an MP3 player and a spiffy 2.2-inch QVGA display.

Like the Chocolate, it’s hitting Korea first for about $630. No word on what actual pricing or release dates for the U.S. will be.

  • Model numbers: SV420, LV4200, KV4200
  • Silver stainless steel
  • 2-megapixel camera with flash
  • 1GB of storage
  • 2.2-inch QVGA display
