Add in a couple of Asian booth babes for good measure, and you’re starting to paint a pretty clear picture of LG’s new 84-inch 8K resolution 3D LCD. Oh yeah, it’s also the world’s largest.
Unfortunately, this is a good news/bad news item, so queue the bad news. LG’s is just a demonstration model and won’t be gracing your local Best Buy in the near future. It’s being introduced at the Society of Information Display (SID) 2010 conference.
Other technologies on display are LED Inter-Plane Switching (IPS) along with liquid-lens 3D displays that use inexpensive passive polarized 3D glasses. The SID display is running in Seattle, Wash., from May 25 to May 27 at the Washington State Convention Center.
