LG Electronics will be pushing more content and connectivity option on its NetCast-compatible TVs in 2010.

The company is launching a line called at CES 2010 that will include full-array LED backlighting with 240 zones of local dimming, seamless industrial design and “seamless connectivity.”

LG, which also added a Blu-ray player with a 250GB hard drive, will be making most of its new TVs “wireless ready,” meaning the TVs can connect to a WiFi network via an optional wireless dongle rather than built-in WiFi. Several of the new sets will feature wireless HDMI.

The number of content options on NetCast TVs also will expand, adding Picasa, Skype and Accuweather. Skype users will need USB video camera/microphone accessories. Current partners include CinemaNow, Netflix, Pandora, Vudu, and YouTube.

3D Displays

LG will be launching 3D in all of its primary display technologies (LCD, plasma, projector). A new LCOS projector will include two separate image engines — one for 2D content and one for 3D content.

LG will offer a 15-inch OLED TV with a stated contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1.
