LG Plans First Dual-Format High-Def DVD Player
Combo Blu-ray/HD DVD unit will be unveiled at next week's Consumer Electronics Show.

LG Electronics (LG) has announced that it will launch the world’s first dual-format high-definition disc player, capable of playing both Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD content. The unit will be released in the United States in early 2007.

LG expects this technological breakthrough to end the confusion and inconvenience of competing high-definition disc formats for both content producers and consumers.

Why on Earth would what HDMI system it uses mean anything?  Seeing as both formats cant use ANY of the HDMI 1.3 features.  Seems like someone has been sucked in by Sony marketing again!

LG hasn’t released much information about the unit yet, but we will hopefully find out next week!

well i can not type. change hdmi system to 1.1,1.2 or 1.3 sorry about that.

well i guess the beta/vhs syndrom is out? if yhe price is right it will fly.  what hdmi system will it use 1.0, 1.1 or 1.2?
