If you’ve been scrounging around for some new 3D content, you may be in luck—if you have one of LG’s Cinema 3D TVs.
The company just announced plans to add 3doo to its app lineup. The 3doo platform features an entire library of free 3D videos. The streaming service says that live events and paid on-demand content will follow soon.
LG has already started pre-installing the 3doo app in all of LG’s new Cinema 3D TVs in Germany. The rest of the LG world should start getting the app sometime in early December.
LG’s Cinema 3D TV line features passive 3D technology, which promises an HD 3D image via battery-free glasses. Other features include 2D-to-3D conversion features and the Magic Remote for easy navigation throughout the set’s menu.
Earlier this year, 3doo signed a deal with Panasonic, to put the service on that company’s 3D TVs. Between the two deals, 3doo plans to be available on more than 67 million 3D TVs in 2012, with Display Search projecting numbers of 350 million by 2015.
3doo is also working on plans to deliver 3D commercials, as well as a 3D social networking platform known as my3doo. The latter is currently available to Panasonic VIERA owners, in beta.
