Laser Turntable Price Dips Below $10K
ELP Corp. may make audiophiles happy by reducing the LT-1LRC model Laser Turntable price from $15,000 to $9,900.
March 14, 2007 | by Arlen Schweiger

Audiophiles rejoice!

ELP Corporation, a leading Japanese audiophile innovator, has announced significant price reductions of up to one third of the original price on its flagship device, the Laser Turntable. Direct distribution and improved manufacturing efficiencies have enabled ELP to drastically reduce pricing, further opening up the market for this unique technology to vinyl record enthusiasts across the globe.

Sure, it’s still going to cost you between $9,900 and $14,000 depending on the model, but that’s a far cry from $15,000 to $19,000 previous pricing, which has to be sweet music to any audiophile’s ears. The LT-1LRC price dropped from $15K to $9,900; the LT-1XRC from $17,000 to $13,000; and the LT-2XRC model from $19,000 to $14,000.

The Laser Turntable employs patented technology that produces phenomenal fidelity while never physically touching the record, thus eliminating the deterioration to the album’s surface inflicted by conventional turntables.

The laser’s precision allows you to pick up audio information that has never been touched or damaged by a needle. This audio information is then reproduced without digitization maintaining true analog sound as close as possible to when the master tape was recorded.

The Laser Turntable even allows you to play records that have been severely warped or damaged over years of wear and tear. It also comes equipped with a remote control that allows you to pause and scan the record much like a CD player.

And if you think “hogwash, who listens to vinyl anymore, and why would you get a turntable for that price?” check out last year’s Electronic House Home of the Year Awards gold winner in the Home Theater $251K+ category—if you have the money to spend on other A/V and want truly the best fidelity possible, any audiophile will tell you it’s vinyl any day over digital.
