We’ve seen a few tech-inspired pieces of furniture. The Nintendo-inspired coffee table is the first that comes to mind. However, if you’re looking for a piece that pays homage to something a little more current, Kyle Buckner Designs has this iPhone-inspired coffee table.
Like the Nintendo table, this isn’t just a spot for resting your drinks. It actually doubles as a docking station with touch controls.
With a swipe of the hand, a 6-inch down-firing subwoofer will appear. Another swipe will get you eight high-end transducers. On the outside, there are lighted drink holders. Also, the company says that the top was designed to be a lot more scratchproof than the actual iPhone—so you won’t need a giant plastic cover or anything.
This particular table is made for the iPhone 4. However, Kyle Buckner Designs says that they can make an iTable in any dimensions, with custom colors or other tweaks. If you’re more of an Android person, it can be made to fit any smartphone or tablet device. Prices range between $1,200 and $10,000, depending on the project.
