It’s a lot to remember your keys and wallet when leaving the house, let alone make sure all of your TiVo tasks are scheduled. Now, when you realize that you forgot to record “American Idol,” you can text the commands via the kwiry service.
The free service just announced a new addition to its Shortcuts service, which will turn your text messages into TiVo recordings.
All you have to do is text something like “TiVo American Idol” to kwiry’s shortcode number: 59479 (k-w-i-r-y). The service will set it and you can forget it—at least until later.
The service works with any cell that can send a text and TiVo’s Series2 and/or Series3 boxes (for TiVo scheduling, anyway). The only other thing you’ll need is a kwiry account, which you can get for free on the company’s website.
kwiry also offers other Shortcuts, including access to Netflix, Facebook and Yelp.
