A few select companies are gradually getting AirPlay into products. Now, Klipsch is planning to put the technology into its upcoming Gallery G-17 Air soundbar.
Because the G-17 Air has AirPlay built in, there’s actually no need for any other connected components. The G-17 Air can stream music from the iTunes library that lives on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. We’re guessing that a PC or Mac is also fair game, since the unit can connect via any Wi-Fi network.
If not, you can use the built-in USB and 3.5mm inputs to hook in other non-Apple devices.
According to Engadget, the G-17 Air features two Tractrix-horned 10-watt tweeters and dual 2.5-inch, 20-watt woofers. Because the G-17 Air weighs just 7.5 pounds, it’s easy to wall-mount or place on a bookshelf, in an AV rack, or on any other available surface. It’s also easy to control, via buttons on the actual unit or the included remote.
Klipsch has yet to announce a formal release date for the G-17 Air. However, it should hit sometime this fall with an MSRP of $529.99.
