KEF Rocks Out V300 Dual-Speaker System
The new audio solution can complement your HDTV via one HDMI connection.

KEF is outing another simple sound solution. However, the V300 isn’t just another soundbar. Instead, this latest entry into the company’s V Series is known as “a dual-speaker system.”

All that basically means is that the V300 includes a pair of speakers instead of just the one. However, this setup is designed to complement your HDTV without a receiver and can connect to the TV via one HDMI 1.4 cable. From there, you can use an existing remote to adjust the volume; no other control clutter is needed.

Each speaker measures only 1.4 inches deep, but manages to pack in a pair of 4.5-inch bass drivers and a 1-inch vented aluminum tweeter with KEF’s “tangerine” waveguide. That pair comes packaged with a Class-D amplifier, which has on-board EQ housed in a separate activation module that can be mounted behind the TV.

Once you decide to add on to the setup, that same amp has a subwoofer jack. Other features include a frequency response of 80Hz to 30kHz, a maximum peak SPL of 103dB, and both HDMI and SPDIF optical digital inputs.

KEF’s V Series also includes the V720W and V700 Soundbar systems, both of which will start shipping this October.

The V300 offers several mounting options and comes with desk stands. KEF is selling the V300 system now, with an MSRP of $899.99.
