Just because you’re considering a packaged speaker system doesn’t mean you have to settle for a cookie-cutter setup. KEF is making its new E-series E305 5.1 system a real standout, packing the set with six extremely curvy speakers.
The setup includes four E301 speakers, the E301c center channel and the E-2 subwoofer.
The highlight of those speakers is KEF’s own Uni-Q driver array, which includes a 4.25-inch midrange/low frequency driver and a 0.75-inch vented aluminum dome tweeter. Weighing in at a mere 5.3 pounds each, these speakers pack in a 90Hz - 33kHz frequency response, a crossover frequency of 2.7kHz, and a sensitivity rating of 86dB. KEF also says that optional floor stands are available for each of the speakers.
Rounding out this pretty package is the E-2 powered subwoofer, which has an 8-inch driver and a 250-watt built-in Class-D amp.
KEF has yet to announce pricing or a release date for the setup. In the meantime, you can drool over the system via the up-close peek in the video below. [via Big Picture Big Sound]
