KEF is offering two new sweet-sounding additions to its Custom Installation (Ci) series. The new QR and CR lines have a total of seven models. All of the new in-ceiling loudspeakers feature an Ultra Thin Bezel design and a “tangerine” waveguide, promising a greater level of dispersion and driver protection.

The QR line includes KEF’s own Uni-Q technology, which places the tweeter in the acoustical center of the woofer, promising bigger sound and better room coverage. All also feature gold-plated spring-loaded binding posts.

The Ci130QR is the least expensive of the QR line, at $249.99 each. That price includes a 5.25-inch Uni-Q driver array and a 0.75-inch aluminum-dome tweeter. The Ci160QR pushes the driver to 6.5 inches and the price to $299.99. Finally, the Ci200QR has an 8-inch Uni-Q driver array and a 1-inch aluminum-dome tweeter for $349.99.

To make the CR series stand out, each of those four models feature KEF’s asymmetrical tweeter island to achieve near-Uni-Q performance at an affordable price.

As far as the CRs go, the Ci130CR ($179.99) has a 5.25-inch woofer and a 0.75-inch aluminum-dome tweeter, while the Ci160CR ($224.99) has a 6.5-inch woofer. The Ci200CR has an 8-inch woofer and a 1-inch aluminum-dome tweeter for $274.99. Finally, the Ci160CRds packs in two 6.5-inch tweeters and a 0.75-inch woofer for $274.99.
