Kaleidescape wants to get into a few more homes. Known for its pricey movie server products, the company just introduced the Cinema One. This out-of-the-box solution is Kaleidescape’s first server to be priced under $5,000.
This single-box setup promises an easy installation, similar to a DVD player. As a replacement product for the Kaleidescape Mini System, the Cinema One can hold about 225 DVDs or 2,500 CDs.
However, it’s not just easy to install, but also pretty easy to operate. The Cinema One boasts instant viewing, simple search features, and a second controller, the kid-friendly Child Remote. The server can also do two independent music zones, which means you can watch a movie in one room, while music is playing in another part of the house.
It’s also pretty simple to expand this system, by adding in another Cinema One or Kaleidescape player. The Cinema One is compatible with all existing Kaleidescape products.
“Our dealers and customers have been asking for a simple-to-install Kaleidescape System,” said Michael Malcolm, founder, chairman, and CEO of Kaleidescape. “The Cinema One makes it possible for many more customers to enjoy the richness of the Kaleidescape experience.”
The Kaleidescape Cinema One is available now. It carries an MSRP of $4,995.
