JVC has stepped up to the energy efficiency bat and hit some towering home runs. The company has several models that top the list of TVs that meet the Energy Star 3.0 specifications, which specify energy efficiency when the TV is turned on.

JVC has the four most efficient sets in the 40-to-42- and 46-to-47-inch class—and with 1080p models.

To qualify for the new “on mode” Energy Star criteria, a 42-inch HDTV can consume no more than 208 watts—though JVC’s LT-42EM59, LT-42P789, LT-42SL89VA, and LT-42X579 use just 111 to 112 watts, while the Vizio SV420XVT1A uses 115 watts. All those far and away exceed Energy Star requirements.

JVC reports that it also has the three most efficient models in the 50-to-52-inch class, and its 32-inch LT-32EM20 720p LCD TV shares top honor with Sylvania and Emerson. Click on the link above to see latest Energy Star models.
