It’s hard to admit that you’re lost. JVC’s KD-NX5000 won’t judge you. It will even sing you a little song or play a DVD while guiding you to your destination point.

This 1-DIN HDD-navigation device is a great travel buddy, combining a DVD/CD receiver and built-in 3.5-inch monitor. The unit has a 40GB hard-disk drive: 16GB for maps and 24GB for about 5,000 of your favorite driving songs. When you pull over for an $11 roadside burger, pop in a DVD and enjoy a movie in the privacy of your own vehicle.

Other features include an RDS-TMC traffic tuner (but it needs a subscription), data to direct you to 13 million points of interest, Bluetooth capabilities, iPod compatibility, a remote, and more. The optional KV-CM1KD rear-view is also available.

  • $1,100
  • 40GB HDD
  • 3.5-inch monitor
  • Map coverage of U.S., Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands
  • Maps include over 13 million points of interest
  • Supports MP3, WAV, WMA
  • Optional rear-view camera available
