Joost has released a free iPhone app

If you’ve migrated toward watching almost—or more—TV and movies online than on your regular set, then you’re undoubtedly familiar with Hulu, Veoh, Joost and the like.

They’re starting to make it even easier for you to watch their content, too. Joost now lets you view videos on-the-go, provided you’ve got an iPhone or iPod touch, as the company released a free app for the Apple devices earlier this month.

Guessing we’ll see an app from Hulu pretty soon, as it has become one of the most buzzworthy IPTV sites of 2008.

USA Today notes that with the Joost app you can view content from CBS, Comedy Central, Warner Brothers and Sony with the Wi-Fi connection, and that it’s certainly a way for Joost to come back from out of Hulu’s shadows.

Will you be catching up on CSI or Colbert on your iPhone? If you’ve tried the Joost app, let us know how it works in a comment below. The iPhone certainly made watching YouTube—which has just recently started showing full TV episodes—a convenient experience, so we’re hoping for similar from Joost, only with more conventional programming rather than mostly clips and home movies.

I downloaded this a couple of weeks ago, anticipating some good stuff to watch. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any.

Give me a Hulu app any day!
