Whether you love jazz, country or death metal, Jook wants to connect you with people that can appreciate your taste in music.

Jook turns any portable player into a personal radio station, allowing users to transmit songs to other listeners. It also works across player formats, meaning that iPod users can torture Zune owners with their song choices, and vice versa.

So instead of keeping your guilty pleasures to yourself, this new music service wants to make music social again…

Then once you’re juiced up on someone else’s song selections, you can connect later online to talk to the “DJ” or rate people’s musical choices.

Jook consists of three modes: Me, Us and U. Me is the listen mode, Us allows you to listen and share music, and U connects members.

Sadly, it doesn’t look like you can just get Jook. Instead, the company says it will be available to manufacturers and developers of portable music players and accessories.
