After months of waiting, JetStreamHD has started selling, well… the JetStreamHD.
This little add-on is for people that depend on that iPad for just about everything. Obviously, the iPad can put your in touch with email, movies, friends, music, and so much more. What it doesn’t seem to do so well is snag all of the content you’ve hoarded on your home computer over the years. Enter the JetStreamHD.
The JetStreamHD is sort of like a middleman for iPad users. Just hook it up to your home router, download the free app, and within minutes, you can stream all of that media you’ve amassed over the years. It works with any computer, USB drive, media server or NAS that resides on your home network, and promises any format—even full 1080p HD.
Even better, you don’t need to actually be at home to snag all of that content. The JetStreamHD works outside of the house, too. Whether you’re in the backyard, at the office or in another country, if you have Wi-Fi or 3G access, you will be able to show off family pictures and video, listen to music, and much more.
“Other solutions require hours of difficult setup and format conversion for each mobile device, require a powerful home computer to act as the streaming server, and deliver a grainy, stuttering viewing experience,” said Grant Hall, JetStreamHD’s CEO. “JetStreamHD is the first product to solve this problem.”
The JetStreamHD allows users to search, sort and filter content, and even adds in cover art, plot summaries, and other info. It also has support for AirPlay, so you can also stream that content to an Apple TV set-top box.
JetStreamHD for the iPad is currently selling on the JetStreamHD website, with plans to branch out to retail sites like Amazon. The MSRP is listed at $199.99
