Need a new brain? For you, it’s not that easy. Your home theater is another story. Harman just introduced the JBL Synthesis SDP-45 Surround Processor, a new component that’s designed to be the control center of your home theater.

The 7.1-channel SDP-45 has a ton of drool-worthy features and can share that wealth with a lof of other AV essentials, via eight HDMI inputs, two HDMI outputs, nine digital audio inputs, one USB audio input, six RCA and two balanced stereo analog inputs, and 7.1 analog inputs.

Harman’s JBL brand is packing this unit with Crystal Semiconductor 24-bit/192kHz D/A converters, discrete Class A circuitry, and support for Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and other Dolby Digital and DTS formats.

Other features include a large graphical front-panel display, Dolby Volume, a selection of 2-channel DSP surround-enhancement modes, Ethernet and RS-232 ports, an IR input, one trigger input, and three trigger outputs.

“Our JBL Synthesis complete custom-installation home theater systems are created to deliver nothing less than the ultimate home entertainment experience,” said Jim Garrett, director of marketing and product management for Harman’s Luxury Audio Group and Loudspeakers division. “With the introduction of the SDP-45, we are able to offer an outstanding combination of performance, flexibility to accommodate the widest range of video and audio sources and total ease of operation.”
