“Iron Man” is now available in a single-version DVD, as well as 2-disc DVD and Blu-ray versions.
SlideshowThe “Iron Man: 2-Disc Ultimate Edition” just hit shelves today, and Paramount has already planned a few retail promotions.
As if it the $318 million box-office take and overwhelmingly good reviews weren’t enough to entice you to add it to your Blu-ray collection, the studio has eight retail exclusives in various stores.
Circuit City shoppers will be treated to exclusive Marvel Digital Comics featuring artwork from Adi Granov. Best Buy gets custom Marvel lithographs from Gerald Parel. The Target edition has cool Mark III mask packaging. Costco’s version comes with bobbleheads and “Battle Damaged Mark II.” Wal-Mart will have two versions: one with an exclusive Nick Fury comic, and the single-disc version with one episode of the “Iron Man” animated series. Borders has a collectible book with original sketches and the top 24 covers of “Iron Man.” Finally, Trans World (FYE and Suncoast) shoppers will get an exclusive Steelbook package.
Both Kmart and Sears will also offer $5 off the “2-Disc Ultimate Edition” or $25 off a Craftsman purchase (to make your own suit, perhaps?).
All of the offers, except Wal-Mart’s single-disc package, will be available only on the 2-disc set. The “Iron Man: 2-Disc Ultimate Edition” is available today at retailers nationwide.
