You are probably still sweating from the summer heat, but Paramount is planning your fall entertainment. The studio just announced its plans to put “Iron Man” on DVD and Blu-ray.

However, the studio is planning more action for your money. Remember those extras we had talked about? “The Iron Man: 2-Disc Ultimate Edition” will be a superhero-sized set.

Disc one will have the film, as well as deleted/extended scenes. Disc two is full of featurettes that will show all about how Iron Man came to be, his Friends & Foes, and a ton of other extras. The Blu-ray version throws in the chance to get really geeky—you can enter the Stark database to check out weapons or zoom in on any of the three Iron Man suits, or Iron Monger. The disc will be in 1080p, with plenty of 5.1 support, including Dolby TrueHD.

According to the announcement, the standard-def version will have the same $40 price tag as the Blu-ray. Misprint? We shall soon see. A single barebones DVD will also be available for $30.

“Iron Man” is still in theaters now, and going strong. According to Box Office Mojo, it’s made almost $316 million so far. Robert Downey Jr. got rave reviews as billionaire playboy/superhero Tony Stark. Directed by Jon Favreau ("Elf," “Swingers"), the summer blockbuster also stars Jeff Bridges, Terrance Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow.

If you didn’t do it in the theaters, make sure you stick around until the end of the credits—or at least fast forward through them.

The “Iron Man: 2-Disc Ultimate Edition” will hit DVD and Blu-ray on September 30.

I thought the same thing, DeMarco. You’d think they put that on this release. No dice.

Loved the movie, but where is the 7.1 audio? For any movie for that matter
