iRobot just announced a Pro unit, as well as two new Roomba devices designed for pet owners.
Massachusetts-based company iRobot is adding more buddies to its band of robotic friends. Today, the company announced the iRobot Roomba Pet Series Vacuum Cleaning Robot and the iRobot Roomba Professional Series Vacuum Cleaning Robot.
Designed to get the hair and dander, the Pet line includes the Roomba 532 ($349) and 562 ($399). Each comes equipped with extra brushes, a high-capacity sweeper bin, and cleaning tools to keep the whole kit-and-kaboodle free from debris. The 532 can handle three rooms on a single charge. The 562 has all of the same features, with an extra set of brushes. It can also do an extra room on the same charge, and has “on-board scheduling,” so you can set up automatic use—even when you’re not around.
Ever notice that some offices look more disgusting than a frat house after pledge week? The iRobot Roomba 610 Professional Series Robot ($599) is designed to pick up all of your coworkers’ funk. It has a high-capacity sweeper bin, two interchangeable bins, extra brushes and filters, as well as cleaning tools—everything you don’t want to touch while at work. There’s also a Max Mode, which allows Roomba to clean until it can’t anymore. Once the battery is almost totally drained, the little guy goes back to his Home Base and waits for another workday—just like you!
iRobot’s new Roomba Pet and Roomba Professional Series are available immediately. Go to the iRobot website to make a purchase.
