iriver is pretty well known for being a portable powerhouse, but now they want to break into another area—in your entertainment center.

The UNIT 2 is a networked home entertainment system with web access, music, video, photos and phone features all rolled into a soundbar-styled unit.

According to Twice, other features include a CD/DVD player, FM tuner, TV tuner, DVR, Wi-Fi support and a 160GB hard drive. Talk about going for the gold. It will also include a slick 7-inch touchscreen, as well as a separate handheld remote.

The UNIT 2 is expected to be available in Q3 2008; the price is rumored to be between $800 and $1,000.
