Simplification is not a new concept when it comes to remote controlled products. One universal remote versus six remotes in a basket, or five in a basket and one lost under a seat cushion, is a no-brainer. When it comes to your HDMI-connected source content, that’s IOGEAR’s thinking too.
The company has expanded its HDMI product family to include its 4-Port Automatic HDMI Switch, which lets you connect up to four HDMI devices (be it a DVD player, Apple TV, PlayStation 3, etc.) through a single input to go to your HDTV.
So you’ve got fewer wires running directly to the TV to worry about shoving behind it or hiding, and with IOGEAR’s High-Definition Automatic Switch (HDAS) technology locking and transferring the content, you can access the switch through a universal remote to alternate between sources.
The 4-Port Automatic HDMI Switch is HDCP compliant and supports 1080p resolution, the company says. LEDs on the front panel tell you what HDMI device is in use.
MSRP is $189, and the switch includes a standard three-year warranty. For more info, go to www.iogear.com.
