Iogear’s DVI Video / Audio Extender Kit promises an extra 100 feet over a single cable.
Ever need to get audio and/or video far away from its origin?
Unless you are Oprah, you probably don’t need the signals to travel 100 feet. However, if you want Oprah-styled bragging rights, you can get Iogear‘s DVI Video / Audio Extender Kit.
The kit promises to transmit signals up to 100 feet away on a single cable. It comes with two DVI units, a local transmitter and a remote receiver, which can be connected with a Cat 5e/6 cable.
Use the 3.5mm jack, and you can also use the kit to connect speakers.
In case you’re keeping score, the product also promises DVI-D SL video support and is compliant with the DVI 1.0 specification.
The kit is designed for digital signage professionals, but if you want to shell out the $500, you won’t need Oprah or anyone else to make it happen. It’s available now through major catalog and online resellers, as well as select retail outlets.
