Inteset Media Servers Let You Pick Both HD DVD and Blu-ray for Safekeeping
Inteset's Denzel and Maximus media servers allow for stroage of HD DVD and Blu-ray disc on their massive hard drives.
August 07, 2007 | by Arlen Schweiger

While consumers still try to decide whether they want to go HD DVD or Blu-ray, some manufacturers are not narrowing their choice by producing combo units that play both next-gen DVD formats. Inteset has gone a step further, making both formats compatible to store and play on their Maximus and Denzel media servers.

The formats’ playback is facilitated through CyberLink’s PowerDVD Ultra software, Inteset says, allowing for all of the latest 7.1 surround sound formats (Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS Audio) that accompanies the discs to be supported as well without a separate receiver or pre-processor.

For storage, next-gen DVDs might be large, but that’s not a problem for the up-to-3 terabytes (1.2 internal, then upgradeable) of space on the Denzel and up-to-6 TBs on the Maximus. So if you want to purchase either HD DVD or Blu-ray to have a little A/B comparison, Inteset is making it easy pickings.
