The new DTR-7.8 THX Ultra2 Certified A/V receiver from Integra comes with such a laundry list of features to fuel your home theater system, it’s a good thing you’ll probably be having your professional installer set it up.
For starters, the 7.1-channel home theater receiver has HDMI v.1.3a compatible switching, including 1080p and Deep Color 36-bit video signals. For your HD DVD and Blu-ray content, it also gives you onboard decoding for the Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio lossless audio formats for those high-def DVDs.
There’s an array of system integration control features, including helpful features for your installer such as an Ethernet port, bi-directional RS-232 and three programmable 12-volt triggers.
A variety of multisource/multizone options are also available, including fixed and variable 2.1-channel line-outs for two more zones. The Zone 2 output also includes both composite and HD-quality component video outputs, as well as independent tone and balance controls. With Integra’s Powered Zone 2 capability, the receiver’s rear surround amplifier channels can also be reconfigured to provide power for a stereo pair in a second zone while the main room still delivers full 5.1-channel surround sound.
The setup process includes using Audyssey’s acclaimed MultiEQ XT room acoustics correction for countering room distortion in dedicated home theaters.
The receiver is available from Integra dealers for $1,300. Go to www.integrahometheater.com for more info.
