The Nest hasn’t just become one of the most popular home thermostats; it’s currently one of the most popular home devices—period. It can add several smart features into your temperature control. However, it hasn’t typically shared the love with other areas of the Electronic House.

Now, it looks like the tide is starting to turn.

Recently, BitWise announced support for the Nest. Now, Insteon is adding the thermostat into its mix. The Insteon Hub can now connect to the Nest, which means that users can link the thermostat with other home features, such as lighting, security, and more.

It also means that if you have the Insteon Hub and the Nest linked, you can control both from the free Insteon app for iOS and Android devices.

“Nest Thermostat users know the tremendous value of home automation and can now easily build a truly connected home through our Insteon Hub, devices and mobile app,” said Joe Dada, CEO of Insteon. “Our affordable and wide array of products expands the possibilities of home connectivity, monitoring and control for Nest users.”
