For years, Insteon has been making the option of home control a lot easier. Now, they want to bring home tech to even more of the masses, introducing the new Insteon Hub.
According to Smarthome, the new Insteon Hub makes it even easier to set up an automation system at home, with no activation or monthly service fees. Designed to replace the company’s existing SmartLinc Hub, the Insteon Hub can control most Electronic House features, including lights, thermostats, locks, security cameras and appliances.
Once the Hub is completely configured, it can store all of your settings in the cloud. That makes it easy to tap into via a smartphone or tablet. It also makes it easy to add on another portable device. Just download the app, sign in, and all of your info is there.
The Hub also has options to schedule devices to turn on or off at certain times of day, as well as sunrise and sunset. Users can also incorporate sensors that can trigger email and text alerts, based on events.
Insteon technology uses both wireless and powerline networking, making for an easy install. Designed for retrofit applications, the Insteon Hub doesn’t need new wiring or a professional installer. Other Insteon devices include wall switches and dimmers, lamp and appliance modules, thermostats, and handheld remotes.
The Insteon Hub is currently available at Smarthome, Amazon and other retailers, with an MSRP of $129.99.
