He may hate snakes, but apparently Indiana Jones loves high-def. After years of waiting and wondering, we shall soon see the adventurer like never before—on Blu-ray. Paramount has officially announced plans to release The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection.
However, it is a bit of a tease. The studio says it will be coming, but there’s no official release date yet. Instead, Paramount says that the collection will be coming to home theaters everywhere sometime this fall.
Those aren’t the only details that are slim, too. We do know that the box will include all four Indy films. That means that Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade will all be available on Blu-ray for the first time. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which was released on the format back in 2008, will also be included in the set.
The extras are also anyone’s guess at this point, but Paramount says to expect documentaries, interviews, featurettes and “a few new surprises.”
Also, even though Paramount and Lucasfilm Ltd. haven’t said a peep about pricing, Amazon has The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection listed with a $99.99 MSRP, with pre-orders currently being accepted for a discounted $74.99 price.
