You want to fill your digital media server with loads of, well, digital media. But if you’re an audiophile or videophile, or just used to good ol’ physical disc media, you probably want more than the compression-filled options out there.
HDGiants feels your pain, as it’s made a name for itself by offering CD and DVD quality downloads in its music and video digital store (including high-res HD content and some cool pre-configured collections). Now it’s teamed with UK media server manufacturer Imerge as an embedded content provider for its beefy MS1 Media Server.
It’ll be plenty easy for you to navigate through your video collection or make some purchases with the flash-based GUI on the MS1 and the HD MediaStore. Imerge becomes the latest hardware partner of HDGiants, which already teams with the likes of Crestron, Niveus, Fuze Media Systems, ReQuest, Russound, Qsonix, Olive and Thiel to name a few.
The MS1 features 1080p video playback, Wolfson Delta-Sigma 24-bit DACs, improved XiVA link, super quiet operation, and support for unencrypted video and uncompressed audio.
It also employs XiVASafe external storage, dual redundant drives and field-replaceable cooling fans for extra precaution, configurable in 3- and 6-TB solutions to hold as much media as you can throw at it.
