It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Imerge. However, the UK-based company has been busy cranking out products, and the latest looks like one that almost anyone could squeeze into the home—literally.
The new High Definition Mini Client is compact, making it a nice option for installations where space is at a premium.
Designed to work with Imerge’s MS1-3D media servers, this compact unit can offer local playback of DVDs and Blu-rays, including HD audio. And yes, it’s pretty compact—a little smaller than two DVD cases.
That small appearance and the included VESA 75/100 mounts make this device easy to place behind a TV screen or anywhere else that won’t disrupt the room’s decor.
Each Mini Client connects to the main MS1-3D server via Ethernet. That MS1-3D server can be placed out of sight, with the Mini Client going in each area you want the entertainment to be.
Imerge says that the MS1-3D server can store and play DVDs and both 2D and 3D Blu-rays. If you want the 3D to reach other areas of the home, more MS1-3D clients need to be added into the mix. The MS1-3D includes a companion XiVaSafe high-reliability redundant disk storage array, RAID-6 technology, and access to the XIVA on-line music store. The company also has an iPhone controller app available.
