There are already a few ways you can catch up on video via your iPhone/iPod touch, but the one many of you are waiting for is Hulu. A solution could be forthcoming, though it may still be a few months away.
The Business Insider is reporting that such a Hulu app for iPhone/iPod touch is in the works and “coming soon” so you’ll be able to spend those spare commuter minutes, or while you’re waiting in the doctor’s office, watching last week’s “Office” or “30 Rock” on your portable device.
The report is indicating that the popular video streaming service’s app would work over both Wi-Fi and 3G, and act similarly to Hulu’s efficient website.
Don’t worry about too much conflict with Apple’s own iTunes store, either, since you can still purchase video content in that store to own, while you’ll have to stick with simply “renting” whatever Hulu video you stream (yes, that’s free renting, though, part of why Hulu’s so sweet).
Of course, this is just one report—albeit from the reporter’s trusted industry executive source—so for now you’ll have to stick with the likes of MLB videos and YouTube, but at least we know YouTube’s trying to play catch up with Hulu and stocking much for for you to enjoy.
Do you think a Hulu app be a must-download app, like Pandora, for your iPhone? Let us know in comments below.
